Learning to fly is a fun and exciting process. For those who have always dreamed of flight and others for whom learning to fly is a more recent interest, you will find it both a realistic goal and one of the most rewarding challenges of your life. It doesn’t need to be difficult; in fact, there are only a few simple steps you need to take and we’ll help you through the process. Take it is just one step at a time and before you know it, you’ll be a FAA Licensed Pilot.

Here are the steps:

  • First, you need to figure out, “Is this for me?” How do you do that? Take your first flight! We offer several exciting packages starting at $99 to help get you in the air for the first time and flex your wings.
  • Once bitten by the bug, it’s time to start your flight training.  Once again, we offer a great value with our Captain’s Package. It offers a $250 savings on your first three flights. From your very first flight, you will be at the controls. As you gain ability and confidence, you will spend more time flying and your instructor will spend less. You will continue to progress, becoming skilled in a variety of maneuvers. In short order, you’ll be performing take-offs and landings, stalls, slow-flight, and ground reference maneuvers.
  • Next, you’ll need to get your aviation medical certificate, a simple medical exam to ensure you’re ready to fly. We’ll provide a list of local doctors who are certified by the Federal Aviation Administration to conduct the exam. It’s not very intrusive and few people have a problem with it.
  • Finally, the big day arrives. You’ve been dreaming about it for years and it’s upon you. You’ll make your first solo flight… a day you’ll never forget!
  • Once past your first solo, you fine tune your skills while building flight time and experience. During this period you’ll learn to navigate, fly at night, and control the aircraft by reference to the instruments. You’ll be studying the books as well. There’s a bit of theory that goes along with flying the aircraft.
  • When the time is right, you’ll take the FAA written exam. It’s your chance to show what you’ve learned. We have several resources available to make it as easy as possible. We offer group ground schools and several software programs that help you learn.
  • Finally, it’s time for you to take the FAA checkride for the Private Pilot License…after a successful oral exam and flight in the plane…YOU’RE A PILOT!
