About Us >> TF Green Location
Horizon Aviation at Providence International Airport (PVD - TF Green)
Horizon has its own ramp leading to the taxiway and two hangars in which it stores it planes each night. We are the only school in the area that hangars all of our planes, every night, meaning less frost on the wings and more flying time for our students. When you spend time here, you can't help but enjoy the awesome view of the planes taking off on the runway right next to our main hangar.

TF Green Airport
TF Green Airport is a class C airspace and students here quickly learn the proper procedures that govern this busy place. Contrary to common belief, it is actually very easy to get in the air; in some respects it is actually more efficient than cueing up at an uncontrolled landing strip because of the professional air traffic control. When you are in this airspace you have a tower watching out for you and making sure that you and all other planes in the vicinity are safe. We teach you how to communicate with the tower in a procedure that you can then use anywhere in the world. If you're going to learn to fly, learning in this active commercial environment will make you a safer, more confident pilot.

Getting here
We are conveniently located near Interstates 95 and 295, as well as near US Rt. 1 and major state roads. Students come from all over New England to train here.  Directions below.

Inside Horizon
We have a CFI room where you and your instructor will sit and conduct one on one lessons equipped with a dedicated computer workstation, table, whiteboard, and comfortable chairs. In this room their are multiple stations and you will be in an active learning environment.

Every flight starts with a thorough briefing and ends with a thorough debriefing.

Flight Simulator (PCATD)
We have an advanced flight simulator with student and CFI stations that allows us to train you in instrument only flight, saving you money and giving you practice on the ground, before you get in the air. Click here to see our FAA-approved simulator.

FAA test center
Our school is an FAA computer test center, meaning you don't have to travel to another location to conduct FAA written tests. This can be a big time saver and have a positive effect on your testing. You will be tested in an environment you are comfortable and familiar with, reducing the stress on you as you prepare for your exams.

In addition, we have computer based training to prepare you for the written exam and computer programs to practice the exams. These resources will help you prepare more effectively for your licenses.
